"People were trying to tear us apart but we locked arms": Blake Corum urges Michigan team to "be brothers" during upcoming 2024 season

Former Michigan Wolverines running back Blake Corum asked the 2024 Wolverines team to be united.

Corum was speaking to Fox Sports during the Wolverines' spring game and said:

"My message to this team is just be brothers ... People tried to tear us apart, but we locked arms and we had goal in find and we finished our goal. We love our brothers."

Corum had to remain united with his teammates at the Michigan Wolverines owing to the multiple scandals engulfing the Wolverines' teams the previous season.

On their way to winning the national championship, the Wolverines were penalized on two separate occasions for violations. Firstly, head coach Jim Harbaugh was suspended by the university for the four games of Michigan's season.

Then, Harbaugh was suspended again for the final three games due to a sign-stealing scandal that may be the main thing that people associate that year's Michigan Wolverines team with.

During the scandal and the fallout from it, the Wolverines won the Big Ten, the Rose Bowl against the Alabama Crimson Tide and the national championship game against the Washington Huskies.

However, those who were not supporters of the Wolverines program were quick to dismiss the team's accomplishments, claiming that they only reached where they were because they cheated and that their national championship win should be ignored to some extent.

Corum's message to the next Wolverines team is to ignore those who want to bring the team down and to care for their teammates by staying united.

Which NFL team will draft Blake Corum?

Blake Corum is preparing for the NFL draft, which will be held on Thursday.

NFL Draft Buzz predicts Corum to be a third-round pick, while Pro Football Focus says that Corum will be picked either in the third or the fourth round.

One team would be the Buffalo Bills. While James Cook has been a strong RB for the Bills, the Buffalo offense is weaker than it was a few seasons ago, and the departure of Stefon Diggs will not help quarterback Josh Allen.

Corum will add a layer to the running game, which the Bills may need to use a lot more than usual due to the lack of targets and Allen's high turnover rate.

Another team that could be in the market for him would be the Los Angeles Chargers. The reason for this pick is simple. Jim Harbaugh is the coach. Harbaugh and Corum worked well at Michigan, and the two know how each other works.

Corum will be placed on an aging team that has struggled recently, but the reunion of coach and player might be enough to bring the Chargers back into contention.

Corum had a tremendous 2023 season, scoring 27 touchdowns and accumulating 1,245 yards. Corum was the highlight of the Wolverines' attack, even outperforming quarterback JJ McCarthy, who might be a top-five choice.

Corum is a talented player, but his age may be something that has caused his stock to dip.

Corum will be 24 in his rookie season, and many players have been in the NFL for 2-3 years before they have reached this age. Teams may not want an older player when they can get a younger one who can develop into a strong performer.
