PHOTO: Oregon reveals special helmet stickers for the season in tribute to Khyree Jackson and Spencer Webb

Khyree Jackson and Spencer Webb will receive a heartfelt tribute from the Oregon Ducks. Dan Lanning’s team will sport special helmet stickers for the upcoming 2024 season.

The Ducks have honored Webb in the past, who tragically passed away in 2022, and now they will extend this tribute to Jackson, who died in a car accident. The honorary helmet stickers are a fitting way to remember these players, symbolizing their presence on the team.

Apart from the Ducks, the Vikings have also decided to honor Jackson with letters 'KJ' printed on the helmets. He was a fourth-round draft pick by the Minnesota Vikings in the 2024 NFL Draft.

The Vikings have also decided to support Jackson’s family by paying his full signing bonus of $827,148 (as per Spotrac) to his family. Khyree’s jersey number – 31 – will not be used by the Vikings.

The 24-year-old was a former Ducks cornerback who transferred from Alabama in 2023. Sadly, Jackson's life was cut short in an early morning car crash on July 6, 2024, in Maryland, alongside two of his former high school teammates.

Dan Lanning mourns Khyree Jackson at Big Ten media days

Khyree Jackson got a tribute from his former coach at Big Ten media days on Thursday. Speaking from the podium at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis, Lanning expressed deep sorrow over Jackson's tragic death in a car accident.

"This summer we experienced great sorrow," Lanning said. "Losing a player that meant so much to us, finished his career here at Oregon.
“Losing Khyree in a car accident this summer hurt. That was one of those things you wake up as a coach and you hope to never see, and I’m feeling for him and his family."

Dan Lanning also extended his gratitude to the Minnesota Vikings for their support during this difficult time.

"I want to give a special thank you to the Minnesota Vikings and the way that they’ve taken care of Khyree and his family.”

Jackson played only one season under Lanning at Oregon in 2023. His stats read: Three interceptions, 34 total tackles (25 solo), 5.0 tackles for loss and 2.0 sacks.
