Stetson Bennett stole the show during the Los Angeles Rams' 13-9 preseason win over Jim Harbugh’s Chargers. However, it wasn’t just his game-winning exploits that had fans buzzing.

The former Georgia Bulldogs star QB reunited with some familiar faces, sharing a nostalgic photo with ex-UGA teammates Ladd McConkey, Warren McClendon, Jamaree Salyer, and Jaylen Johnson.

The reunion brought back memories of their glory days at Georgia, where Bennett and his fellow Bulldogs led the team to back-to-back national championships in 2021 and 2022. Have a look at the photo:

Now in the NFL, Bennett impressed in his preseason outing on Saturday. He delivered a clutch 47-yard touchdown pass to receiver JJ Laap in the fourth quarter, sealing the Rams’ victory.

After a shaky start against the Cowboys last week, where he threw four interceptions, Bennett was determined to bounce back. He completed 17 of 31 passes for 213 yards, with a touchdown and one interception. Gracing the gridiron after missing out last season due to illness, Bennett said, per the LA Times:

“When you don’t play football for so long, you want it to be perfect. But you kind of gotta make those mistakes to learn from it."

Bennett is nothing short of a legend at Georgia. His journey was marked by resilience and success. Starting as a walk-on in 2017, Bennett’s path to stardom was far from guaranteed.

After transferring to Jones College in 2018, he returned to Georgia in 2019 as Jake Fromm’s backup. He saw limited action, but glimpses of his potential were there for everyone to see. His breakthrough came in 2021 when he took over the starting role after JT Daniels was sidelined.

He led Georgia to an undefeated regular season, throwing 29 touchdowns and guiding the Bulldogs to the College Football Playoff National Championship. Despite criticism after a loss to Alabama in the SEC Championship Game, Bennett silenced doubters by leading Georgia to victory over Michigan and a rematch win against Alabama, securing Georgia’s first national title since 1980.

In 2022, the legend of Stetson Bennett grew even larger. He led the Bulldogs to another perfect season, culminating in a 65-7 thrashing of TCU in the College Football Playoff National Championship, where he was named Offensive MVP.

Bennett’s six-touchdown performance tied him with Joe Burrow for the most in a CFP title game, and he finished the season with a school-record 4,127 passing yards.
