"Please fire Billy Napier": Florida fans unhappy after Gators tumble against Georgia in Week 10
Billy Napier's Florida Gators suffered a 34-20 defeat against the No. 2 Georgia Bulldogs in Week 10 on Saturday. It was the Gators' fourth defeat of the season, and some Florida fans on social media slammed Napier for the loss.
A section of them called for Napier to be fired.
"Please fire Billy Napier…I’m begging you.QB draw at our 25 is pathetic and it gets DJ hurt," one wrote.
"Can we fire Napier now?" another tweeted.
"Fire Billy Napier," a third commented.
Others also pointed out that Florida has been lagging behind many programs with Napier at the helm.
"Vanderbilt is going bowling after playing Alabama and Texas and you’re making excuses for Billy Napier. Grow up," one wrote.
"Billy Napier is Mike White all over again. No matter what your eyes tell you people think he can fix it because he’s a good guy," a user wrote.
There were a few who also praised Napier for giving it his best shot against Georgia in Week 10 while working with an injury-hit team.
"Billy Napier has earned another year. Outstanding effort from a completely depleted team against the toughest schedule in the country. #GoGators," a fan tweeted.
"Any Florida fan who wants Billy Napier fired when he’s on his 3rd QB and will have only lost to Top 10 teams is a f**kin moron," one commented.
Florida will aim to get bowl eligibility following Week 10 defeat against Georgia
After its Week 10 loss against Georgia, Florida will aim to at least secure bowl eligibility for the season. The Gators have four wins currently and need two more victories from their next four regular-season games.
However, as things stand, Florida has a tough run toward the back end of the season. The Gators will now face three teams in the AP Poll's Top 20 in the next three weeks. Here's a look at the Gators' schedule for the remainder of the college football season:
