Predicting 3 Texas Longhorns QB's stats for 2024 college football season ft. Arch Manning
The Texas Longhorns quarterback room will be among the most talented in the nation in 2024. The Longhorns roster features two of only three quarterbacks – Quinn Ewers and Arch Manning – to receive a perfect 100 prospect rating from 247 Sports.
Texas has plenty of talent at the skill positions and will look to build off of a strong 2023 season which saw them reach the College Football Playoff for the first time since its inception in 2014.
Here's a closer look at the predictions for Texas' three quarterbacks next season.
Predicting Texas Longhorns' 3 QB's stats for 2024 college football season
#1. Quinn Ewers
Quinn Ewers initially joined the Ohio State Buckeyes as a five-star prospect – and top-ranked overall recruit – in the 2021 recruiting class. He has thrown for 5,656 yards, 37 touchdowns and 12 interceptions while completing 64.3% of his passes in his two years at Texas so far. He joined the Longhorns via the transfer portal ahead of the 2022 season and is coming off the best season of his career.
Ewers led the Longhorns to the postseason, throwing for 3,479 yards, 22 touchdowns and six interceptions while completing 69% of his passes. Look for him to build on his strong resume and solidify his status as a first-round pick in the 2025 NFL draft by throwing for around 3,744 yards, 30 touchdowns and six interceptions while completing 71.3% of his passes next season.
#2. Arch Manning
Arch Manning also joined the Longhorns as a five-star prospect – and the top-ranked overall recruit – in the 2023 recruiting class. However, he hardly saw the field as a true freshman, recording 30 passing yards, zero touchdowns and zero interceptions while completing two of his five pass attempts.
Manning will enter the season as the second quarterback on the depth chart after Maalik Murphy joined the Duke Blue Devils via the transfer portal. While he will see the field more than he did in 2023, his playing time should likely be limited, barring any injury or struggles from Ewers. Look for him to throw for 632 yards, four touchdowns and zero interceptions while completing 67.3% of his passes.
#3. Trey Owens
Trey Owens joined the Longhorns as a four-star prospect in the 2024 recruiting class. While the true freshman will get his first taste of being on a college football roster this fall, don't expect him to see the field. Look for Owens to not record any stats next season as Ewers and Manning dominate the playing time under center.
