"Sanders family has zero class": CFB world slams Shedeur & Deion Sanders Jr. for their sideline actions against Texas Tech
Deion Sanders' Colorado Buffaloes took care of the Texas Tech Red Raiders 41-27 on Saturday. It marked the Buffaloes' fourth straight game scoring at least 31 points. But the final score was not the biggest talking point following the Big 12 brawl.
Deion Sanders Jr., son of the Colorado head coach, got into a verbal altercation with a member of the Texas Tech ballboy staff.
After Shilo Sanders was able to get a scoop and score to put the nail in the coffin for Texas Tech, the ballboy tried to grab the ball from Sanders. He was clearly more interested in keeping the ball, which symbolized his first touchdown of the season. His brother Shedeur also came to his defense.
After the video was shared on social media, college football fans chimed in with their take on the feud.
While some defended the ballboy for just doing his job, others thought he should have had the presence of mind to let the special moment happen for Deion Sanders' son.
One fan commented:
"Sanders family has ZERO Class. Less than ZERO actually"
Another said:
"Imagine shoving a ball boy and telling him he f***ed up because he was trying to get his team's ball back. And they wonder why people don’t like the Colorado program."
"It’s Texas Tech’s ball. Each team provides their own offensive balls and ball boys. This isn’t the NFL. Ball boy was just doing his job. CU with more bush league classless trash. Easy to hate this program and their new band wagon fans. OG Buffs fans I can ride with you though," said one fan.
"The ball boy is 1,0000% wrong here," offers another fan.
"Ball boy should have just asked for the ball...and good god it's not like he insulted him or something. Drama," said another.
How have the Buffaloes performed thus far?
Colorado extended their win streak to three games as they stormed through to a 7-2 record, continuing to do everything they can to stay alive in the race for the Big 12.
The BYU Cougars remain at the top of the conference undefeated at 9-0 after narrowing out against the Utah Utes in the Holy War 22-21. The bid will be hard to steal, as Colorado's path to the 2024 College Football Playoff will likely have to come through a standard birth.
Iowa State is no longer an obstacle now that they've lost two straight, so the path for the Buffaloes is very clear.
Their next matchup is against the Kansas Jayhawks, an offense that has shown flashes while they have struggled to defend at all levels.
