"Sanders worries more about status and fame" "This is back peddling": Fans unconvinced by Colorado denying rumors of Coach Prime's band instruction

A report by Denver Sports on Saturday after Colorado's 28-10 loss to the Nebraska Cornhuskers suggested Buffaloes coach Deion Sanders asked the team's band not to play the traditional “Fight CU” song.

The report by analyst Jake Shapiro, who is reportedly an adjunct professor at the University of Colorado, stated that Sanders wanted to hear his son Shedeur Sanders' rap, "Perfect Timing," played instead.

Although the rumor was denied by many, including University of Colorado alum and FOX Sports commentator Joel Klatt, fans were unconvinced.

Many fans took a dig at Deion Sanders and his influence on the program.

"This is back peddling after the press finding the truth…that is all," one fan commented.
"Klatt debasing himself for that fraud says it all," another wrote.
"I think Deion leaked this to take the attention off of that abortion his team had on the field Saturday 😂" another had a different way about it.
"But the fact they still play his song is ridiculous! Sometimes I think the sanders worry more about status and fame than football! Which is crazy cause your dad's deion lol how much more fame you want ?" another added.
"It wouldn’t shock me. Deion’s offense is geared to make his kid look good not to win games, Deion took this job just to showcase his kids which is why he doesn’t develop or want to build a program and just goes after transfers who can’t play," one fan commented.

Colorado spokesperson comes forward to defend claims against Deion Sanders

Curtis Snyder, a spokesperson from the University of Colorado, came forward, dismissing claims made by Jake Shapiro concerning Deion Sanders and his alleged instruction to the band.

“This is not true,” OutKick reporter Trey Wallace shared the statement from Snyder on X. “Nobody ever asked the band to refrain from playing the fight song. After a touchdown, the band plays 'Glory, Glory, Colorado' luand after a point after touchdown, the band plays 'Fight CU' as has been standard practice for years.
“When Shedeur Sanders scores, the band will wait a moment a moment for a small snippet of Shedeur’s song to play before immediately kicking into 'Glory, Glory, Colorado.'
“This is exactly what happened during the game against North Dakota State. This practice is not unique to Shedeur, as the band will wait a moment after a successful field goal to play Alejandro Mata‘s song before playing 'Fight CU.'”

During the Week 1 game against North Dakota State at Folsom Field, when Colorado scored a touchdown, Shedeur Sanders' rap song was played, followed by “Glory, Glory, Colorado.” This holds true with respect to Curtis Snyder's statement.

Colorado was off to a great start by clinching a thriller over the Bison, only to be outdueled by the Cornhuskers in the Week 2 game. Last year, Deion Sanders' program suffered a disappointing 4-8 finish. And despite the team overhaul, many issues resurfaced, lowering Colorado's odds of beating the previous year's record.
