SEC College Football Playoff Scenario, Week 11: Georgia Bulldogs, Texas Longhorns lead the way while Aggies stumble

The college football season has turned to the final stretch as the calendar enters Week 11, with the SEC playing great football over the first 10 weeks of the season. The 16 teams have a combined 86-50 record, including an impressive 44-8 mark in non-conference games.

There are eight SEC teams ranked in the latest rendition of the AP Top 25 Poll, with four in the top 11 - and seven in the top 16 - in the nation. There were two additional programs among the others receiving votes, meaning that 10 of the conference's 16 teams received some recognition from voters.

The No. 2-ranked Georgia Bulldogs lead the way, as they are 7-1 and 5-1 in conference play. The No. 5-ranked Texas Longhorns, who are 7-1 and 3-1 in SEC play, lead a large group of playoff hopefuls looking up at the Bulldogs in the standings.

Conference play remained in full force in Week 10, as 10 of the SEC's 16 teams faced a conference opponent, with the four other programs enjoying an open week. The expanded postseason field of 12 teams will likely lead to multiple teams from the conference reaching the College Football Playoff.

SEC College Football Playoff Scenario Ahead of Week 11

The No. 2-ranked Georgia Bulldogs have the highest odds of any SEC program to reach the College Football Playoff, as they sit at 7-1 with a 5-1 mark in conference play. They are considered a near lock with -2000 College Football Playoff odds, the third-best odds in the nation.

The No. 5-ranked Texas Longhorns are right behind them, as their -1250 odds of reaching the College Football Playoff are the fourth-best in the nation. They are 7-1 overall and 3-1 in SEC play.

The No. 7-ranked Tennessee Volunteers have the third-best odds of any SEC program of reaching the postseason. They are 7-1, with a 4-1 mark in conference play. The Volunteers' postseason odds are -230, which is the 10th-best mark in the nation.

Despite sitting at 6-2 and 3-2 in SEC play, the No. 11-ranked Alabama Crimson Tide are the only other SEC program in the top 12 of postseason odds. Their -140 odds of reaching the College Football Playoff are the 11th-best in the nation.

The No. 16-ranked Ole Miss Rebels lead a group of SEC programs on the outside looking in, with their +160 odds being the 14th-best nationally. The No. 14-ranked LSU Tigers with the 15th-best odds, +220, of reaching the postseason. The No. 15-ranked Texas A&M Aggies' +350 odds are the 19th-best in the nation.

The Missouri Tigers, +1800, No. 24-ranked Vanderbilt Commodores, +4000, and South Carolina Gamecocks, +6000, are all considered longshots to reach the postseason. Their odds are 26th, 32nd and 34th-best, respectively.
