“Seriously funny!” “True” - CFB fans left debating over Brett Yormark’s bold claims at Big 12 Media Day 1

On Tuesday, Brett Yormark made a few bold statements at Big 12 Media Day 1. The Big 12 commissioner claimed his conference is a top-three conference in the country ahead of the upcoming season.

Fans on X reacted to Yormark's comments, some ridiculing him for his statements.

"Seriously? Seriously funny!" one tweeted.
"Three out of four is second to last," another user tweeted.
"Lol this guy should just become a politician with all the blatant lies," a fan tweeted.

However, many acknowledged the growth of the Big 12.

"True," one fan tweeted.
"Agreed. ACC is a mess right now with 2 possibly 3 competitive teams any given year. XII has 9-10 competitive teams so we are definitely a top 3 conference," another fan tweeted.
"People forget this guy saved us from becoming what the Pac 12 did. Pac 12 leadership had every advantage to outlast the big 12 and still lost," another user tweeted.

Before his comments about the Big 12 being a top-three conference in the country, Brett Yormark said:

“The Big 12 is exploring all options. Two years later, I guess you could say we’re still open for business.”

In 2023, the Big 12 added BYU, Cincinnati, Houston and UCF to its conference. This year, Yormark's conference drew in Arizona, Arizona State, Colorado and Utah from the Pac-12.

Although the Big 12 has lost top programs such as Oklahoma and Texas, its expansion under Yormark is admirable.

As things stand, 16 teams are in the Big 12 this year. It remains to be seen if the conference will continue to add top teams in the coming years.
