Shilo Sanders injury report: Colorado coach Deion Sanders gives latest update on his son ahead of Week 5 clash with UCF
The Colorado Buffaloes are fresh off their thrilling 38-31 overtime win against the Baylor Bears in Week 4. The Buffaloes will travel to Orlando in Week 5 to take on the UCF Knights in a Big 12 showdown.
Ahead of the matchup, Colorado coach Deion Sanders provided an update on his son and star safety Shilo Sanders.
"[Shilo] is on pace to be back," Sanders said per Adam Munsterteiger. "I'm not going to count that out this week. But if he holds off this week, he'll have two more weeks, which would be smart."
While it would be a huge gain for the Buffaloes defense to get one of its leaders back in Week 5, Deion Sanders seems to be airing on the side of caution, saying it would be "smart" for his son to ease his way back.
Shilo suffered a forearm injury in Colorado's loss to the Nebraska Cornhuskers in Week 2 and required surgery. Coach Prime posted a photo following his son's surgery on September 9.
The Buffaloes coach also offered some insight on the status of running back Dallan Hayden and said that he is set to play this week.
