Shilo Sanders sends out merchandise to fans in gold packaging while showing off Cybertruck: "Headache gang"

Colorado Buffaloes safety Shilo Sanders went under the radar for his performance against the North Dakota State Bison during his team's thrilling 31-26 season-opening win. Meanwhile, his brother, quarterback Shedeur Sanders, got all the plaudits. Shilo registered nine tackles with one for loss despite being unwell.

Ahead of the Buffaloes' trip to Lincoln to take on the Nebraska Cornhuskers, Shilo was in business mode posting an Instagram reel of himself mailing custom "Headache Gang" t-shirts to fans via UPS.

The items were gold packaged, and the Colorado star was filmed taking them out in crates from his Tesla Cybertruck.

Shilo Sanders accused of not disclosing NIL earnings

Shilo Sanders declared bankruptcy last year due to an ongoing case against him filed by former Focus Academies security guard John Darjean. The security guard accused the Buffs star of assaulting him and leaving him with permanent injuries in 2015.

When Shilo did not attend a court hearing in 2022, Darjean was awarded $11.89 million, according to court documents obtained by USA TODAY. In 2023, the star filed for bankruptcy.

According to the court documents Sanders declared the valuation of his assets at $320,477. Darjean's lawyers claimed that the Colorado star was hiding income from his NIL earnings with brands like Oikos Yoghurt, Kentucky Fried Chicken and TurboTax, and that his asset valuation was misrepresented.

When Sanders filed a motion against the claims by Darjean in June, Judge Michael Romero refused to dismiss the charges and reinforced the court's belief that the football star was using limited liability companies (LLCs) to conceal some of his assets.

“The Complaint contains sufficient allegations that Sanders’s companies function as his alter egos and that the corporate veils of the LLCs should be pierced,” Romero wrote in his ruling.
“This Court is unwilling, at this stage of the proceedings, to rule out application of the alter ego or veil piercing doctrines on this matter. The Court therefore denies Sanders’s request to dismiss Darjean’s … claim purely on the basis it might involve assets owned by Sanders’s LLCs.
"However, the Court cautions Darjean that reverse piercing is considered an 'extraordinary remedy' and he faces a high burden to demonstrate all necessary factors at trial.”

As Shilo Sanders continues to make a name for himself, the weight of the legal matters pressed against him continues to loom large over his final season in college football.
