Steve Sarkisian shares touching messages he received from Nick Saban and his wife Miss Terry after Texas' loss to Georgia
Texas Longhorns coach Steve Sarkisian shared a touching message that he received from former Alabama coach Nick Saban and his wife Miss Terry last weekend. Sarkisian's Longhorns suffered a 30-15 loss against Georiga in Week 8 on Saturday, but the Saban power couple sent him some words of encouragement the following day.
On his radio show on Thursday, Sarkisian revealed Nick and Terry's supportive message.
"Some of the best teams (Nick) ever had experienced a loss during the season," Sarkisian said. "Their backs were against the wall and they felt like they had something to prove.”
Notably, Sarkisian worked two stints under Saban's Alabama. In 2016, Sarkisian joined the Tide as an offensive analyst/ interim offensive coordinator for one season. He then left Alabama to work with the NFL's Atlanta Falcons as an offensive coordinator for two years.
However, in 2019, returned to Alabama and spent two years as an offensive coordinator with Saban's Tide. He was hired as the Texas head coach in January 2021 and is currently in his fourth year with the team.
Meanwhile, Saban, who spent 17 years as Alabama's coach, won six national titles with the team and retired from coaching earlier this year in January.
Steve Sarkisian's Texas will aim to get back to winning ways in Week 9 vs. Vanderbilt

However, the Longhorns, who are still in the race for the College Football Playoff, will want to get back to winning ways when they travel to face the No. 25 Vanderbilt Commodores (5-2) on Saturday.
