"Storming the field for beating Baylor next level sadness": CFB world trolls Deion Sanders' Colorado after fans takeover Folsom field

Coach Deion Sanders' Colorado Buffaloes played a thriller against the Baylor Bears on Saturday that needed overtime to extract a result. Finally, the Buffs' added seven more to their tally in overtime to win the matchup 38-31 at Folsom Field.

Following running back Micah Welch's rushing touchdown, which eventually sealed the game, a forced fumble by Colorado's two-way star Travis Hunter saved the day for the Buffs.

Though the play went for review, Folsom Field already had fans storming into the playing area. This required the PA announcer to request fans to get off the field since the game wasn't over yet with the play under review, which eventually went Colorado's way for the win.

The entire ordeal had fans buzzing on the internet, with some taking a dig at the crowd in Boulder.

"Storming the field for beating Baylor next level sadness," one fan commented.
"Props to Travis and Sanders. The played their asses off. But storming the field off beating 2-1 unranked Baylor is crazy," another wrote.
"Imagine storming the field after beating BAYLOR LMAOOO 😭😭😭" another fan wrote.

However, few understood the emotions among fans for a game that went to overtime.

"That storming the field was awesome lol," one fan posted.
"Did they beat Baylor or Ohio State??" one fan joked.
"fans acting like they won. the super bowl or smth," another added.

Deion Sanders apologizes for the field invasion

The CU football bleeds emotions on game day. Whether it's players or the fans, it's all the same when Colorado is at its finest.

So when a game goes to overtime where their two Heisman Trophy contenders led the way from the front, it has all the ingredients to get fans on their toes and storm the field to celebrate it enthusiastically.

After the game, while addressing the media, Deion Sanders regretted not being able to shake hands with Baylor Bears coach Dave Aranda amid fans storming the field.

"That's not professional, I wanted to shake his hand and acknowledge him," Sanders said.

However, he hailed the fan base for staying unfiltered, like the way he runs the program.

"We have a fan base that's phenomenal," Deion Sanders said. "We have some young kids on this campus that love and breathe CU football, and I'm thankful."

With the first Big 12 win in the bag, the Buffaloes improved to 3-1 overall and 1-0 in conference matchups.
