"Tells you what he feels": When Coach Prime's ex fiancée Tracey Edmonds got real about how he handles negative feedback at Colorado

When Tracey Edmonds and Deion Sanders, a.k.a. Coach Prime, were setting couple goals before their split, the actress didn’t hold back her admiration for the iconic football coach.

During an interview in October 2023, Edmonds gushed about Sanders, who was the talk of the town due to his first season in charge of the Colorado football program.

"He is a winner. He’s always been a winner," Edmonds said, beaming with pride over Sanders’ rising fame and the phenomenon known as 'The Prime Effect'.

When asked about the negative feedback Sanders sometimes receives, Edmonds addressed it straight away.

"Deion is prime, and he's outspoken. He's gonna tell you what he feels. Some people are gonna like it," she explained.

It was all part of the Coach Prime package for Edmonds, who loved his direct style of entertaining fans and critics.

Despite the ups and downs in their personal lives, Edmonds remained proud of Sanders' accomplishments, even as their relationship ended two months later.

Why did Tracey Edmonds split with Deion Sanders?

The Colorado Buffaloes coach and Tracey Edmonds officially ended their relationship on December 3, 2023, calling off their engagement. The couple, who had been together for over a decade and engaged for four years, released a joint statement announcing their decision to split.

Tracey shared the news on Instagram, emphasizing that their parting was made with "love, respect, and appreciation."

However, Edmonds later addressed rumors surrounding the breakup in a deleted Instagram post, expressing frustration over false narratives. She clarified that the decision to end the relationship was hers.

"I’ve chosen to prioritize myself and my family, moving forward towards a future where I am valued, treated with honesty, and free to embrace the happiness and respect I deserve," Edmonds said to People.

The two appear to have ended things amicably, but Edmonds was adamant about getting things straight for everyone. As a successful entrepreneur and CEO of Edmonds Entertainment Group, she remains focused on her career.

Boasting over 25 years of experience in TV and film, the 57-year-old continues to make her name in Hollywood. She has co-hosted ExtraTV (2014-2017) and won a Daytime Emmy alongside Mario Lopez.
