Texas A&M Aggies Transfer Portal: Ranking top five players who've left the AggiesÂ
The Texas A&M Aggies had an up-and-down season as they finished the regular season with an 8-4 record, including a 5-3 mark in SEC play. Things fell apart late for the Aggies as they won just one of their final four games after a 7-1 start. Each of those three losses came in conference play after they started conference play 5-0.
With the transfer portal now open, several players have announced their intention to change programs.
Here's a closer look at the top five Texas A&M players who were among that group.
Top 5 Texas A&M Aggies transfer portal departures
#1. Conner Weigman, Quarterback
Conner Weigman joined the Aggies as a five-star prospect in the 2022 recruiting class. He appeared in 15 games, making 13 starts, and threw for 2,694 yards, 19 touchdowns and seven interceptions. Weigman completed 60.0% of his passes while adding 261 rushing yards and two touchdowns on 67 carries.
He announced his decision to enter the transfer portal on Dec. 3 and committed to join the Houston Cougars on Dec. 11.
#2. Cyrus Allen, Wide Receiver
Cyrus Allen initially joined the Louisiana Tech Bulldogs as a three-star prospect in the 2021 recruiting class. He made 21 appearances during his time with the program, recording 68 receptions for 1,278 yards and eight touchdowns. He also returned 12 kickoffs for 247 yards.
Allen joined the Aggies via the transfer portal ahead of the 2024 season. He appeared in ten games in his lone season with the program, recording 269 receiving yards and one touchdown on 18 catches. Allen announced his decision to enter the transfer portal on Dec. 3 and committed to join the Cincinnati Bearcats on Dec. 16.
#3. Jaden Platt, Tight End
Jaden Platt joined Texas A&M as a four-star prospect in the 2023 recruiting class. He has appeared in nine games, recording two receptions for 52 yards and one touchdown. He announced his decision to enter the transfer portal on Dec. 4 and committed to join the Arkansas Razorbacks on Dec. 17.
#4. Kam Dewberry, Offensive Lineman
Kam Dewberry joined Texas A&M as a four-star prospect in the 2022 recruiting class. He has appeared in 32 games in his collegiate career. Dewberry announced his decision to enter the transfer portal on Dec. 9 and committed to join the Alabama Crimson Tide on Dec. 21.
#5. Malick Sylla, Edge Rusher
Malick Sylla joined the Aggies as a four-star prospect in the 2022 recruiting class. He has appeared in 33 games, recording 26 total tackles, 21 of which were solo tackles, 6.0 tackles for loss and 4.0 sacks. Sylla announced his decision to enter the transfer portal on Dec. 9 and committed to join the Mississippi State Bulldogs on Dec. 22.
