Texas A&M CB's savage pre-game message to Missouri prodigy goes viral as Aggies dominate Tigers
The Texas A&M Aggies have started a new era under new coach Mike Elko after firing coach Jimbo Fisher last season. The Aggies improved to 4-1 after a narrow 21-17 win over coach Sam Pittman's Arkansas Razorbacks during Week 5 of college football action.
Before the Aggies' Week 6 clash against Missouri, cornerback Will Lee III showed his team's confidence by leaving a savage message in Tigers wide receiver Theo Wease Jr.'s room.
Lee, who bears the nickname 'The Blanket', sent a blanket with a personalized message ahead of the game. It read:
"Get used to this blanket ... it will be real tomorrow," Will Lee wrote.
Wease took on the challenge by the cornerback and arrived for the game while wearing the blanket. Will Lee more than kept his word with Wease held to zero catches in the first half of the game.
Before the game against the Aggies, Wease had registered 287 receiving yards on 26 receptions. He formed one of the best wide receiver duos in college football with Luther Burden. The Aggies blew out the Tigers 41-7.
Texas A&M cornerback is one of the nation's best
Will Lee III transferred to College Station after playing the 2023 season with the Kansas State Wildcats. He has been a key piece in new coach Mike Elko's rebuild of the team, with his coverage prowess almost second to no one.
Lee is currently ranked No. 7 nationally in passes defended (7) and is currently second on the Aggies roster with 20 tackles made and No. 1 with seven passes defended on the Aggies roster.
During an interview with Sports Illustrated, Lee revealed why he chose to join the Aggies despite being one of the most highly recruited prospects in the transfer portal.
"Really, family played a big role in my commitment coming here," Lee said. "My dad and grandparents moved to Houston, so Texas A&M being an hour down the road and me and Coach [Mike] Elko having a close relationship, so it really made it really easy for me to come here. It plays a big role. I could have everybody come down and watch and support."
The Week 1 home loss to the Notre Dame Fighting Irish set back the Texas A&M Aggies, but the No. 25 ranked team have shown incredible resilience to win four consecutive games. Part of that bounce back has been the form of Will Lee III, aka 'The Blanket'.
