Texas A&M Recruiting: 4-star QB Helaman Casuga commits to Mike Elko's program

Texas A&M's 2026 recruiting class just got better with a new addition. Four-star quarterback Helaman Casuga out of Corner Canyon High School in Utah announced his commitment to the Aggies on Thursday on a live stream, via the 247Sports YouTube channel. He chose A&M over the other two schools in his top three: USC and Washington.

Texas A&M offered Casuga in April, and he took an unofficial visit for the Aggies' Week 1 game against Notre Dame.

Helaman Casuga discussed Texas A&M and some of what went into his decision to commit:

"Meeting with coach Mike Elko and coach Collin Klein was everything I expected, top notch. My family means everything to me and having them with me was my highlight. Some of the things that stood out for them was how nice the people were especially the Aggie staff."

Helaman Casuga is rated as a four-star prospect and the 13th-ranked quarterback in the 2026 recruiting class according to 247Sports. In addition to Texas A&M, USC and Washington, he had offers from Auburn, Arizona, BYU and Colorado State.

Helaman Casuga is a 6-foot, 200-pound quarterback who can throw the ball accurately and with a lot of distance. His athletic ability allows him to make plays inside and outside of the pocket and be used as an asset in the run game. Casuga is a dynamic player with good footwork and technique, which are good traits for a quarterback.

Through six games this season, Casuga has thrown for 1,617 yards and 18 touchdowns while carrying the ball 48 times for 230 yards and two TDs.

Texas A&M recruiting

Texas A&M's 2026 recruiting class has three commitments, two of which are three-star prospects. The Aggies' 2026 recruiting class is ranked 14th by 247Sports. Their 2025 recruiting class has 22 commits, featuring one five-star, and is ranked eighth.

The 14th-ranked Aggies (5-1, 3-0 Southeastern Conference) sit atop the SEC standings under first-year coach Mike Elko after going 12-13 the past two seasons, leading to the firing of Jimbo Fisher in November.
