Texas Longhorns OT Kelvin Banks Jr. talks about massive update in his personal life
Texas Longhorns offensive tackle Kelvin Banks Jr. is gearing up for an exciting new chapter in his personal life. He and his partner, Demetria, announced over the weekend that they are expecting a baby boy.
When asked about the upcoming arrival, Banks expressed his feelings in an interview with KVUE News, which reporter Cory Mose reshared in a tweet.
"It feels good just having another thing in life to push you to want to be better for yourself and for other people as well," Banks said.
Banks also revealed that he decided to prepare for this new role as a father just as he does for any big game. He also contacted teammates Manny Muhammad and Andrew Mukuba for parenting tips, and the two humorously suggested he be prepared for some early mornings.
Banks and Demetria shared the news on Instagram, celebrating with a heartfelt caption set to Adele's touching song "My Little Love":

The due date is set for late January to early February.
The third-year starter has been impressive this season, currently ranking No. 14 among all offensive tackles, according to Pro Football Focus (PFF). He now looks forward to welcoming his son while he remains focused on the Longhorns, who will face the Florida Gators in Week 11.
