Texas QB Quinn Ewers drops 1-word message to celebrate Donald Trump's triumph over Kamala Harris

Quinn Ewers was among the many college football players to react following the US presidential election on November 5. The Texas Longhorns quarterback took to Instagram to congratulate Donald Trump, who posted a convincing win over his Democratic counterpart, Kamala Harris.

On Instagram, Ewers shared a poster of Trump and his vice president, JD Vance, and captioned the post:

"Legendary."

Trump is set to begin his second term in the White House, albeit after a four-year break, when he lost the election to Joe Biden in 2020.

Now, back to the college football landscape, Ewers, who's garnered competition from teenage quarterback sensation Arch Manning this season, has thrown for 1,389 yards with 14 touchdowns for Steve Sarkisian's team.

Quinn Ewers looks forward to Florida challenge

Week 11 of college football will see the Texas QB preparing for a challenging matchup against the Florida Gators. Ewers is confident and ready to lead his team following a productive open week. Coach Steve Sarkisian praised the QB’s attitude in practice, especially his precise footwork and solid throwing mechanics:

“I thought Quinn had a good week,” Sarkisian said. “He looks fresh. He’s really delivering the ball well and operating with a strong base.”

Ewers has been a bit elusive to the media lately. He has missed two consecutive Monday press conferences. While that may be unusual for a high-profile Texas QB, his focus is recovery and preparation.

His last game against Vanderbilt was a test of his resilience. While he conceded an interception early on, Ewers bounced back quickly, completing 17 consecutive passes. After the game, Ewers said:

“We just keep showing that the culture around us and the way that we can persevere through some tough starts. I’m just proud of the way that we responded to a little adversity early.”

It’s that mentality Texas fans are counting on as Ewers returns to peak form after a recent abdominal injury. The Longhorns are eyeing a strong finish in the last stretch of the 2024 season, and Ewers’ performance is crucial.

While he may not be in active Heisman discussions for now, a standout game could reignite his race and give Texas the boost it needs in these final games.
