"That's so disrespectful": NFL legend Deion Sanders puts an end to popular sentiment with a stern response
Deion Sanders and the 16th-ranked Colorado Buffaloes have had quite a year. With a remarkable 8-2 record and a good shot at a potential Big 12 title, Coach Prime’s success as the head coach for the Buffs has placed him in the spotlight. Talks of him taking up an offer in the NFL have been circulating through the media but Deion Sanders is not having it.
Sanders has repeatedly shut down these speculations. However, when a reporter on Tuesday posed the question again, Coach Prime replied sternly.
Despite his firm answer, doubts remain concerning his future in Boulder. As Sanders correctly mentioned, his athletic director, Rick George, was present when the question was raised.
Discussing a potential move from the team paying him in front of his A.D. would have been awkward. So perhaps there is still room for speculation.
Michael Irving claims Deion Sanders will make Cowboys move if this happens
NFL Hall of Famer Michael Irvin is confident that Colorado coach Deion Sanders will join the Dallas Cowboys if the team drafts his son Shedeur Sanders. This is yet another NFL insider who believes a Sanders-Jones reunion is possible.
Irvin made the claim on Tuesday on FOX Sports’s ‘The Herd with Colin Cowherd’ in response to Cowherd's question of whether Coach Prime would join the Dallas Cowboys if they recruited Shedeur Sanders on their team.
“I believe 100%, and I can tell you, good sources have told me that,” Irvin said.
It is no secret that Sanders cares for his children. Shedeur, in particular, is a rising talent in high demand. Though Coach Prime has repeatedly shut down talks of him moving to Dallas, his description of his vision for Shedeur’s future in the NFL continues to fuel suspicion that he might move to the NFL.
In an appearance on Fox Sports’s SPEAK, Deion Sanders gave his take on the ideal NFL environment for Shedeur, saying he would want him with “Someone that can handle the quarterback that Shedeur is. Someone that has had success in the past handling quarterbacks or someone in an organization who understands what they’re doing, not just throwing you out there amongst wolves.”
This statement shows how invested he is in Shedeur Sanders’s future. With talks of Shedeur getting drafted by the Cowboys becoming more frequent, it wouldn’t be surprising to see Deion Sanders joining the Cowboys to help craft his son’s career.
