J.J. McCarthy: 2024 NFL Draft hot prospect

Michigan quarterback J.J. McCarthy has emerged as one of the hottest prospects in the 2024 NFL Draft. He’s giving NFL teams a headache as analysts debate about his potential top-five status.

Boasting an outstanding college record of 27-1 as a starter, including Michigan’s undefeated national championship run, the 21-year-old has proven his worth on the field. His stats speak volumes, tallying 6,226 passing yards, 49 touchdowns, and 11 interceptions, along with 632 rushing yards and 10 touchdowns on the ground.

Even though J.J. McCarthy played in a conservative offensive system, his ability to make plays in critical situations, particularly on third and fourth downs, impressed former Wolverines coach Jim Harbaugh the most.

Analysts Daniel Jeremiah and Mel Kiper Jr. praised McCarthy's growth and potential, likening him to NFL stars like Patrick Mahomes and Josh Allen. His competitiveness and athleticism have drawn comparisons to Allen, especially in his performance against the Washington Huskies where his speed and agility left defenders in the dust.

McCarthy's ability to excel in high-pressure situations has caught the attention of NFL scouts, thus moving up his draft stock. Let’s see which team secures the services of the former Michigan QB.
