"The nerve of this guy" - Coach Prime's ex-wife Pilar Sanders slams Texas ball boy after Deion Jr. & Shedeur Sanders heated altercation
Colorado quarterback Shedeur Sanders dug his team out of a hole after the Buffaloes fell 13-0 behind in their Week 11 clash against the Texas Tech Red Raiders. Sanders went 30 of 43 for 291 yards for three touchdowns while adding one touchdown on the ground to win the Buffs the game 41-27 and move them to 7-2 for the season.
The Jones AT&T Stadium was hostile ground with Texas Tech fans throwing tortillas on the field, necessitating Red Raiders coach Joey McGuire to take over the microphone to tell them to stop.
After Shilo Sanders recovered a fumbled ball to score a touchdown, a Red Raiders ball boy swiped the ball from his hand, drawing an immediate angry reaction from Shedeur and Deion Sanders Jr., who were celebrating with the team.
Colorado coach Deion "Coach Prime" Sanders' ex-wife Pilar Sanders slammed the ball boy's actions on TikTok. She captioned the clip:
"Shilo Sanders scores a touchdown. The nerve of this guy! Go sons! When non-factors think they have authority to do what they want and need to be checked! My boys gottem tho! Go sons!" Pilar wrote.
Shedeur Sanders deals with "anti-American" controversy
The leadup to the clash between the Colorado Buffaloes and Texas Tech Red Raiders was marred by a claim made by "Red Raider Outfitter" owner Stephen Spiegelberg, who claimed on "Libs of TikTok" that the Buffs rejected his gameday shirt ideas allegedly due to the presence of the American flag.
During his Texas Tech postgame news conference, Shedeur Sanders addressed the matter decisively after it had gained traction on various social media platforms, with Colorado being labeled "anti-American."
"That CU don't like the flag or something? Like, come on, that's sick at this point," Shedeur said. "Y'all just fishing for content at this point. So, that was very disturbing because then what I feel bad for is there are genuine people out there that read the media that don't know us, and they believe the type of lies and type of things, the narrative.
"Week-by-week, they’re gonna figure out something to talk about. I dunno, it's just weird, and I feel bad for those people that just don't know us, and they’re judging us based on somebody’s hate towards dad."
After the game against the Texas Tech Red Raiders, a Colorado spokesperson released a statement clarifying the institution's position on the matter, revealing why the Buffs rejected the merchandise from Spiegelberg.
"We get requests to use our marks and often decline for any number of reasons," Colorado said in a statement. "In this case, the decision was unrelated to the 'Celebrate America' theme. Our standards are consistently applied and are based on widely accepted licensing and trademark best practices used by national and global brands."
In addressing the matter decisively after the game, Shedeur Sanders showed the leadership qualities highlighted by coach Deion Sanders several times this season and diffused the situation before it gained too much traction.
