"This is the game": Kansas CB Cobee Bryant sends clear message to Travis Hunter before Week 13 clash versus Colorado

The Colorado Buffaloes are building a legitimate College Football Playoff case in just their second season under Deion Sanders. Colorado enters Week 13 with an 8-2 record and could clinch a Big 12 Championship game berth with a win on Saturday.

The team standing in the way of Colorado's potential trip to the Big 12 championship is the Kansas Jayhawks (4-6). While the Jayhawks haven't lived up to the hype given to them in the preseason, they still present a dangerous matchup for a Buffaloes team set to come into Arrowhead Stadium. Kansas is coming off back-to-back upset wins over ranked opponents, downing BYU 17-13 last weekend.

The Jayhawks are confident entering the weekend as demonstrated by star defensive back Cobee Bryant. On Wednesday, reporters asked Bryant if he felt any extra motivation going up against Heisman Trophy candidate, Travis Hunter.

"Yes. Yes. Yes," Bryant answered. "I'm not going to lie, I've been waiting. I already wrote this on my notes. I already know this is the game. I've been wanting this game all season."

Bryant is the leader of a talented Kansas defense. The 2025 projected first-round pick is a likely All-American selection, notching 32 tackles, four passes defended and four interceptions this season. The Heisman frontrunner could have his hands full when lining up at receiver at Arrowhead Stadium on Saturday.

Colorado enters Week 13 as slim favorite over Kansas

In most scenarios, an 8-2 playoff-contending team matching up against a 4-6 team would have a greater point spread than three points. However, most 4-6 teams aren't as talented as the Jayhawks.

While sportsbooks are still making Kansas an underdog at home, they are respecting the potential for a Jayhawks upset in the process. Kansas has endured a daunting three-game stretch versus ranked opponents but has found the hot hand late into the season.

If not for a narrow two-point loss versus Kansas State, the Jayhawks would enter the weekend with a 3-0 record versus ranked teams. Still, two wins over top Big 12 squads make Kansas an enticing pick for this weekend's slate.

Kickoff for this Week 13 showdown is scheduled for 3:30 p.m. ET.
