“Thought this place was actually going to be really, really bad”: 5-star OL Jordan Seaton gives candid take on joining Deion Sanders’ Colorado
Five-star recruit Jordan Seaton, a top-rated offensive lineman in the 2024 class, shared his thoughts on joining Deion Sanders’ Colorado Buffaloes. Initially skeptical, Seaton admitted,
“I actually thought this place was actually going to be really, really bad. Everybody has their own opinion.”
Standing at 6-foot-5 and weighing 285 pounds, Seaton is the top offensive line recruit, per 247Sports.com. Options were plenty for Seaton who visited powerhouses like Ohio State, Alabama, and Michigan; however, he was unsure about Colorado’s resources compared to these programs.
“Coming in here, it exceeded expectations,” he said after CU’s preseason practice on Monday. “We actually have a great facility… Everything has exceeded expectations from the littlest things to the biggest things for me.”
Seaton’s skepticism wasn’t unwarranted given Colorado’s struggles in the 2023 season where the Buffaloes finished 4-8. However, according to him, the freshman took a leap of faith in Coach Prime, which is paying off at the moment.
The Colorado coach has high hopes for Seaton, who’s expected to start at left tackle.

How does Jordan Seaton feel after one week of preseason under Deion Sanders?
College teams have started preseason training camps this week and Colorado is no different. They have hit the ground running and Seaton is already feeling the pressure under Deion Sanders.
“It’s been hard work, like literally hard work. Coach Prime don’t play and then me being an incoming freshman and having a big role as I do, I’ve got to come in and, you know, can’t be the 19-year-old that I am.”
Seaton is working on his fitness to prepare for the upcoming season, sticking to an all-fish diet prepared daily by CU executive chef Carl Solomon.
“Everybody struggles. I have bad days in practice, but I’d rather it happen in practice than on the big field,” he said. “I’m not perfect at what I do, but I’m gonna try to chase perfection.”
CU quarterback Shedeur Sanders is also confident in Seaton’s abilities. Talking about his decision to join the Buffaloes, Seaton said,
“It wasn’t like a bad risk. It was more of taking a chance on myself.”
Despite initial doubts, appears to be glad to be in Boulder, and hoping to improve on their record from season.
