Top 5 tight ends to watch out for heading into Week 5 of college football ft. Harold Fannin Jr.

Week 4 of the 2024 college football season has now concluded with the calendar turning to Week 5. There have already been multiple shocking upsets and big-time wins that could have major implications on the College Football Playoff when the committee meets for the first time in just over a month.

There has also been plenty of strong play from the tight end position in the early portion of the season.

Here's a closer look at five tight ends to watch out for heading into Week 5 of the college football season.

#1. Harold Fannin Jr.

Harold Fannin Jr. joined the Bowling Green Falcons as an unranked linebacker prospect in the 2022 recruiting class before changing positions ahead of his true freshman season. He has been one of the best tight ends in the nation as a junior and appears to be on pace to set career highs across the board. Fannin Jr. has caught 25 passes for 349 yards and two touchdowns over his first three games of this season.

#2. Mason Taylor

Mason Taylor joined the LSU Tigers as a three-star prospect in the 2022 recruiting class. He was a key cog in their offense in each of his first two seasons and also appears to be in line to set career highs in all three receiving categories. Taylor has recorded 25 receptions for 237 yards and one touchdown.

#3. Brant Kuithe

Brant Kuithe joined the Utah Utes as a three-star prospect in the 2018 recruiting class. The seventh-year senior is having a strong start in his final year of eligibility as he has hauled in 12 passes for 216 yards and four touchdowns.

#4. Tyler Warren

Tyler Warren joined the Penn State Nittany Lions as a three-star prospect in the 2020 recruiting class. He is yet another tight end who appears to be on pace for a career year as he has 226 receiving yards and two touchdowns on 16 receptions through three games.

#5. Oronde Gadsden II

Oronde Gadsden II joined the Syracuse Orange as a three-star wide receiver prospect in the 2021 recruiting class. He changed positions ahead of the 2023 season, becoming a tight end. Gadsden II has recorded 15 receptions for 213 yards and three touchdowns in three games this season.
