Travis Hunter goes one step ahead of Ashton Jeanty as Las Vegas lauds Colorado star’s performance vs Texas Tech

The betting odds are swinging in No. 20 Colorado Buffaloes wide receiver and cornerback Travis Hunter's favor to win the Heisman Trophy. Hunter was a key player in the Buffaloes' 41-27 win over the Texas Tech Red Raiders in Week 11 on Nov. 9. His performance in last Saturday's game has betting odds picking him over other Heisman Trophy contenders like No. 12 Boise State Broncos running back Ashton Jeanty to win the award.

Hunter has 69 receptions for 856 yards and nine touchdowns for the season. He's also achieved 20 tackles, one forced fumble and two interceptions. Last Saturday, Hunter had nine receptions for 99 yards and one touchdown in Colorado's (7-2, 5-1 Big 12) victory against Texas Tech (6-4, 4-3 Big 12).

"VSiN's" betting podcaster Tim Murray shared Hunter's betting odds on X/Twitter after Week 11 from FanDuel, DraftKings, BetMGM and Circa, which shows he is the favorite to win the award. He was second behind No. 4 Miami Hurricanes (9-1, 5-1 Atlantic Coast Conference) quarterback Cam Ward after Week 10. However, Miami's 28-23 loss to Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets (6-4, 4-3 ACC) last Saturday shifted the betting odds for Ward.

The second player behind the Buffaloes wide receiver/cornerback is No. 1 Oregon Ducks (10-0, 7-0 Big Ten) quarterback Dillion Gabriel. Gabriel has 237 of 320 completed passes for 2,848 yards and 22 touchdowns for the season. As per Murray's post, Gabriel hasn't led the betting odds race to win the Heisman Trophy since Week 10.

Ashton Jeanty stays behind in betting odds for Heisman Trophy contenders

Ashton Jeanty continues to fall behind in the betting odds to win the Heisman Trophy after Week 11. Boise State (8-1, 5-0 Mountain West Conference) defeated Nevada Wolf Pack (3-8, 0-5 Mountain West) 28-21 last Saturday. Jeanty ended the game with 34 carries for 209 yards and three touchdowns. The Broncos running back has 224 carries for 1,734 yards and 23 touchdowns for the season. He's also done an excellent job protecting the football this season, with only one fumble.

Despite his performances, Jeanty is fourth in the running of all four betting outlets to win the award. The last time he was favored to win was in Week 9. The time for Jeanty to make his case to be the Heisman Trophy winner is running out, as Boise State has three games left on their schedule.
