Travis Hunter's fiancee Leanna Lenee drops a 5-word response to Colorado star's cryptic comment to holiday pics
Colorado Buffaloes' two-way star Travis Hunter is the odds-on favorite for the Heisman Trophy after continuing his impressive season in the Buffaloes' 37-21 loss to the Kansas Jayhawks. Despite his Heisman contending status, Hunter was controversially snubbed for the prestigious Jim Thorpe Award on Tuesday.
Off the gridiron, the NFL-bound Hunter sent his fiancee Leanna Lenee on an all-expenses paid trip to Cabo with three of her friends for her birthday. Lenee has been posting pictures from her vacation on her Instagram stories, which included a well-decorated hotel room complete with a jacuzzi courtesy of the Buffs star.
On Wednesday, Lenee posted pictures on Instagram of her all-white outfit while standing by the swimming pool during her birthday vacation. She captioned the post:
"I love Mexico, Mexico loves me 🇲🇽," Lenee wrote.
Travis Hunter posted a hilarious comment under the picture:
"Nothing there," Hunter wrote.
To which Leanna Lenee replied in a good-natured fashion to the joke.
"You my number one hater," Lenee wrote.
Travis Hunter competes with fiancee Leanna at gift-giving
In a TikTok clip posted on the day before she departed for her birthday trip paid for by the Heisman-contending Travis Hunter, Leanna Lenee revealed how the couple tries to best each other in birthday gift-giving:
"You know me and him, every year we kind of like try to outdo each other for each other's birthdays," Lenee said. "The first two years, I kind of beat him 'cause I like birthdays. Everyone who knows me knows that I love birthdays.
"I've always tried to give him spectacular birthdays, and then he kind of fell into that. And now he's kind of obsessed with my birthday and his birthday, so we compete every year." (2:30)
The revelation by Lenee gives a spin to Travis Hunter's revelation on the "Richard Sherman" podcast about how his fiancee has made him more financially responsible.
“NIL space, I mean, I kind of just sit back and relax,” Hunter said. “I mean, I got a fiancée, so she helped me save a lot of money. So I'm not out there splurging my money. It’s probably just, I do buy a lot of shoes. I probably got like 200 pairs of shoes since like being at Jackson State but shoe ain’t that much.
"But yeah, I save a lot of my money because I know the next level, man, you already got everything. I got two boats and I want to just play football. And I got a wife. So, I'm just happy with my family right there, so I'm in it."
Travis Hunter and Leanna Lenee also have a shared YouTube channel where they give college football fans a peek into their lives and the different challenges that they face as a newly engaged couple.
