Travis Hunter on the physical effort the game versus Colorado State
Catching 13 passes for 100 yards, with two touchdowns is a significant physical achievement for any player. When you add Travis Hunter's contributions to the Buffs' defense, it's clear that he put in an impressive physical effort last night. After the game, Hunter said (per ESPN):
“That’s probably the first time I did that. Because normally, when I run him down, I’d be able to catch my breath and get back up, but that time I was just, I don't know what happened.”
Travis Hunter was on the field constantly, featuring in almost every snap the Buffaloes took both in offense and defense. He also soaked in the rivalry environment, clashing with rival quarterback Brayden Fowler-Nicolosi, who at one point called him too small for the job. The comment would hunt down Fowler-Nicolosi with him giving up an interception to Hunter late in the third quarter.
However, the Buffs aren't out of the fire yet. Next week they open up their Big 12 schedule against Baylor on September 21.
