The UConn Huskies traveled to JMA Wireless Dome to take on the Syracuse Orange in a Week 13 matchup on Saturday. Both teams entered with a 7-3 record through 10 games.
UConn registered three consecutive wins after starting the season 4-3, and was coming off a 31-23 win over UAB on Nov. 9. Syracuse, on the other hand, began the season with a 5-1 record in the Atlantic Coast Conference but had gone just 2-2 in their last four games. The Orange were coming off a 33-25 win over California on Nov. 16.
Syracuse held a 21-14 lead at halftime after an eventful first half. Thanks to their 14-point second quarter, Syracuse outlasted UConn to secure a 31-24 win.

UConn vs. Syracuse: Game Summary
Syracuse opened the game with a 22-yard touchdown pass from Kyle McCord to Oronde Gadsden II, giving the Orange a 7-0 lead. UConn capitalized on a missed field goal from Syracuse, scoring an explosive touchdown off a 71-yard scamper from Cam Edwards.
Syracuse responded with a 12-play, 77-yard drive to take a 14-7 lead in the opening seconds of the second quarter. The Orange broke a 10-minute scoring drought with a 14-play, 68-yard drive capped off by a one-yard run from LeQuint Allen.
UConn marched 75 yards in 10 plays to cut Syracuse's lead to 21-14 going into halftime.
Syracuse scored the first points of the second half thanks to a 23-yard field goal. The Huskies cut the lead to 24-17 going into the fourth quarter after a 42-yard field goal. Syracuse opened the final period with a 10-play, 73-yard touchdown drive capped off by a short touchdown run from Kyle McCord.
The Huskies mustered a 15-play, 89-yard drive to cut Syracuse’s lead to 24-31 with 1:29 remaining. The Orange ran out the clock on the ensuing drive to clinch a 31-24 win.
