UTSA vs. Texas Game Summary

The UTSA Roadrunners were just overwhelmed by the talent that the Texas Longhorns were able to throw at them, which typically happens in nonconference games between Group and Five and Power conference teams. The injury to Quinn Ewers does not appear to be significant enough to where his season is in jeopardy but Arch Manning will start the next game as Ewers recovers.

The Longhorns looked like the dominant program that they have been, as there was not a dropoff from Ewers to Manning under center. This game gave coach Steve Sarkisian and the rest of the Longhorns a glimpse into the future when Arch Manning is their full-time starting quarterback and good things continued to happen.

Below are the scoring plays that happened throughout the game:

  • The Texas Longhorns began the game with a seven-yard touchdown pass from Quinn Ewers to Isaiah Bond to make it 7-0
  • Quinn Ewers throws a 19-yard pass to Johtay Cook II to make it 14-0 Longhorns
  • 12:10 Left in 2nd Quarter: DeAndre Moore Jr 19-yard touchdown catch from Arch Manning 21-0
  • 11:19 Left in 2nd Quarter: Robert Henry 53-Yard rushing TD 21-7 Longhorns
  • 11:07 Left in 2nd Quarter: Arch Manning 67-Yard rushing TD 28-7 Longhorns
  • 13:13 Left in 3rd Quarter: Isaiah Bond 51-yard passing TD from Arch Manning 35-7 Longhorns
  • 10:57 Left in 3rd Quarter: Ryan Wingo 75-yard passing TD from Arch Manning 42-7 Longhorns
  • 13:19 Left in 4th Quarter: Johntay Cook II 12-yard passing TD from Arch Manning 49-7 Longhorns
  • 1:50 Left in 4th Quarter: Ethan Burke 30-Yard Pick Six 56-7 Longhorns
