"Vanderbilt more wins than Colorado": CFB analyst makes a bold prediction for Deion Sanders' Buffs ahead of debut Big 12 season

As Deion Sanders enters his second year as coach of the Colorado Buffaloes, expectations are high following a mixed debut season. CFB analyst Lance Taylor stirred the pot with a bold prediction:

"First bold prediction of the year. Not only Colorado one and 11 Vanderbilt more wins than Colorado."

Taylor's concern primarily lies in the roster situation of the Buffaloes. While star players like Travis Hunter and Shedeur Sanders bring talent, questions loom over the team's depth and overall strength.

The significant number of players entering the transfer portal from Colorado adds to the uncertainty, potentially impacting their competitiveness in the Big 12.

Despite opening with a strong 3-0 record, the Buffaloes finished 4-8 last season, leaving room for improvement. However, the transfer from the Pac-12 to the Big 12 brings new challenges.

The absence of recognized powerhouse teams like Oregon and Washington does not necessarily make Colorado's journey easier, as evidenced by Taylor's prediction of a 1-11 season.

Furthermore, the Buffaloes' schedule, featuring tough matchups against Nebraska and Colorado State, followed by formidable Big 12 opponents, compounds the pressure on Sanders and his team.

Deion Sanders' recruit enters the transfer portal

Cormani McClain, a five-star prospect from the 2023 class, announced his entry into the transfer portal after one season with the Colorado Buffaloes. The top cornerback, initially committed to the Miami Hurricanes, flipped to Colorado to be coached by Deion Sanders, stating his desire to "get coached by the best DB."

McClain's first season with the Buffaloes did not go as planned. His playing time was limited, with just 13 tackles and two pass deflections in nine games. Coach Deion Sanders was openly critical of McClain, claiming that his lack of early playing time was due to his conduct.

McClain's leaving represents a substantial loss for Colorado's defense. Rated a top transfer prospect with three eligible years left, his exit reflects broader struggles within the program.

Alongside McClain, nine other players are parting ways with Colorado, signaling a notable exodus. The departure of key players raises questions about the team's future and Sanders' ability to retain top talent.

Deion Sanders offers sons NFL team choices

Deion Sanders, as reported by the New York Post, has given his sons a special chance. Shedeur, Shilo and Travis can pick from six teams if playing in the NFL. The teams are the Eagles, 49ers, Cowboys, Commanders, Ravens and Falcons.

The sons can choose from those teams only. Notably, Deion played for five out of these six teams during his illustrious Hall of Fame career as a cornerback and kick returner.

Shedeur Sander stands to potentially be a first-round pick in the 2024 season. However, there's a possibility he could land with a team not on his father's approved list, particularly one at the bottom of the NFL standings. His older brother, Shilo, a safety, hasn't garnered as much attention in pre-draft discussions.
