Washington transfer Jabbar Muhammad shares honest thoughts about Oregon after first fall camp under Dan Lanning
Senior defensive back Jabbar Muhammad of the Oregon Ducks has spoken about the differences between Dan Lanning's style of functioning and others. He might have been comparing it to what he experienced last year with former Washington Huskies and current Alabama Crimson Tide coach Kalen DeBoer.
"It's way different. You're hitting and rat-a-tat-tatting every single day, so it's much different... It's a tough schedule. It's legit all-day. I know you see the TikToks and everything, but our fall camp's really all day. It's lenient in some other programs, but this one is kinda tough," h/t Athlon Sports.
This is something that could be viewed as a dig at DeBoer, but prior to last season, he spent his first three years with the Oklahoma State Cowboys. So, it can be a bit more at that than anything else.
Either way, it will be intriguing to see if there is an increased level that Jabbar Muhammad can reach with the Oregon Ducks for the 2024 college football season.
Last season, with the Washington Huskies, Jabbar finished with 46 total tackles (41 solo, five assisted) with a pair of sacks, one forced fumble, three interceptions and 14 pass deflections.
What should we expect out of Jabbar Muhammad and the Oregon Ducks in 2024?
The Oregon Ducks are entering their first season in the Big Ten Conference and that is going to be a bit of an adjustment for the team. This offense was able to do extremely well as they were second in the nation with 44.2 points per game. But they have a new quarterback leading the team after Bo Nix joined the NFL.
The team has Dillon Gabriel, so they should not see too much of a drop-off offensively here.
The questions are going to be more on the defensive side of the field as they completely revamped their secondary, including Jabbar Muhammad. So, with a tougher schedule, it will be different.
However, outside of their home game against the Ohio State Buckeyes, they should be at least in the game until the very end. Do not be surprised to see the Oregon Ducks in the running for the 2024 Big Ten Championship and an automatic spot in the 12-team College Football Playoff.
