WATCH: 47th POTUS Donald Trump endorses QB Nicco Marchiol's 'Trump celly' after scoring TD in college game
West Virginia Mountaineers quarterback Nicco Marchiol showed off his "Trump Boogie" move after scoring a touchdown in last week's game against the Cincinnati Bearcats.
That seems to have caught the eye of newly elected and 47th President of the United States, Donald Trump, who shared the celebration video on Truth Social. Here's the video:
Nicco Marchiol's Mountaineers went on to beat the Bearcats 31-24. The sophomore quarterback threw for 156 yards on 9-of-15 attempts for one touchdown and one interception. He also added 18 rushing yards on nine carries and one score.
“Nicco played really well against Arizona, not so well on Saturday. From a fundamental standpoint, he has to be consistent,” coach Neal Brown said.
“That’s the biggest difference between him being super efficient versus Arizona and playing at a high level, and then him not playing as well on Saturday.
This was Marchiol's second consecutive start this season, given the team's primary quarterback, Garrett Greene, is recovering from an upper body injury sustained in the Week 8 loss to Kansas State.
Mountaineers coach undecided on whom to start against Baylor: Garrett Greene or Nicco Marchiol
In two straight starts, Nicco Marchiol have landed victory for the West Virginia Mountaineers, putting coach Neal Brown in a dilemma.
During Monday's weekly press conference, the coach discussed the situation while staying mum on who starts against Baylor this week.
“Garrett practiced today. We’ll see how he does tomorrow when it’s 11-on-11 stuff,” Brown said Monday during his weekly media session. “We’ll see how the week goes on him. We’ll get both quarterbacks ready. You all can ask a bunch of questions about them, but I’m really not going to say anything.
"Everybody has a right to ask. I want to see how Garrett does. He practiced a little bit last Wednesday, but today was the first day he really practiced. He’ll practice tomorrow and we’ll make some decisions as the week goes, but really not going to comment on it.”
This season, Nicco Marchiol completed 37 of 55 passes for 434 yards with five touchdowns and two interceptions and also has 120 rushing yards and a pair of scores.
