WATCH: Colorado players come out in support of HC Deion Sanders amid Lil Wayne mandatory concert allegations
In response to allegations against Deion Sanders, Colorado players and staff have rallied behind their head coach, denying a report that he forced them to attend a Lil Wayne concert on April 27. Coach Prime’s eldest son addressed the rumors head-on in a YouTube video from his Well Off Media channel, humorously titled, "Another Day, Another Lie Told About the CU Buffs."
In the video, Deion Sanders Jr. casually asks Colorado strength coach Maurice Sims about the purported punishments for players who skipped the concert.
"How many people you had to punish for not going to the concert?" Deion Jr. inquired.
Sims responded with disbelief and said:
""Bro, what is up with that? People are making up weird stuff."
The video further captures Deion Jr., aka "Bucky," engaging with various Colorado personnel and players. Wide receiver Omarion Miller expressed his confusion and said:
"They crazy for that. He ain't force us to go to that."
LaJohntay Wester also seconded this sentiment.
Coach Prime’s other son and Colorado safety, Shilo Sanders, said:
“Dad didn't even know we were going to perform. But I wouldn't even say nothing about it, bro.”
The publication also alleged that players transferred from Colorado due to this supposed mandate.

Deion Sanders replies to critics over Lil Wayne concert controversy
Coach Prime addressed his critics amid the Lil Wayne concert controversy. The clamor began after a report from Athlon Sports claimed that Sanders made Colorado players' attendance at the concert mandatory. The show, held during the Buffaloes' spring game weekend, also featured Shedeur Sanders, who debuted his rap song "Perfect Timing."
Sanders quote-posted the report on X, formerly Twitter, and wrote:
"This is one of the best lies I’ve heard. God bless u and I pray u sleep well tonight because we are. Lawd JESUS."
The Colorado coach's post seems to dismiss the allegations, suggesting they are unfounded as he maintains calm amid the storm.
