WATCH: Deion Sanders shares heartwarming moments between special kids & QB son Shedeur from Colorado youth football camp
Colorado Buffaloes coach Deion Sanders on Wednesday shared some touching moments with kids at a Colorado youth football camp, underscoring the special bond between his quarterback son, Shedeur Sanders, and the young athletes. The camp, aimed at youth aged 6-18, offers a comprehensive experience that hones football skills and instills essential life lessons.
Shedeur Sanders inaugurated this year's vibrant Football Youth Camp, infusing it with inspiration and energy. The atmosphere buzzed with excitement as kids chanted the Buffaloes quarterback’s signature song, "Perfect Timing," and eagerly surrounded him for photos and autographs, mimicking his iconic wristwatch move. Shedeur engaged with the kids by throwing passes and sharing valuable tips.
The camp focuses on teaching the fundamentals of football and includes fun and engaging drills. Specialized training sessions cater to specific positions, ensuring a well-rounded experience for every participant, aiming to build confidence and overall athletic skills.
Deion Sanders, before coaching at the Colorado Buffaloes and Jacksonville Jaguars, founded Prime Prep Academy and Truth Football in 2011 with his then-wife, Pilar Sanders. Their mission was to educate youth through sports. Sanders has brought this program to CU, benefiting children and parents alike.
Deion Sanders encourages authenticity: Urges followers to stay true to themselves
Deion Sanders recently shared an unconventional message on X, formerly known as Twitter. Sanders, who often inspires through behind-the-scenes coaching clips from Well Off Media and bestselling self-help books, surprised followers by urging them to embrace being “flawed” and “unfinished.” Coach Prime’s post emphasized the importance of authenticity.
“We’re spending too much time trying to be who we think people want us to be instead of who we are. Ain’t nobody close to perfection & everybody’s judged so be you flawed & unfinished. A flawed you is better than being the lie you’re pretending to be. God bless you. #CoachPrime,” Sanders wrote.
Deion Sanders’ motivational impact is backed by an impressive coaching record. As Jackson State Tigers coach, he led the team to a 27-6 record over three seasons, securing two Southwestern Athletic Conference championships and earning the SWAC Coach of the Year title twice.
Sanders was also honored with the 2021 Eddie Robinson Award as the top FCS coach. In 2022, Sanders transitioned to the Colorado Buffaloes, his first Division I FBS coaching position. During his inaugural year with the CU Buffs, he achieved a 4-8 record, reflecting a .333 win percentage.
