WATCH: Donald J. Trump at Alabama stadium gets welcomed by loud cheers from student section
On Saturday, 2024 US Presidential candidate Donald J. Trump was in attendance for Alabama's Week 5 game against Georgia at Bryant-Denny Stadium in Tuscaloosa. Trump arrived at the stadium midway through the first quarter and was welcomed to the arena by loud cheers from the student section.
Videos that surfaced online on Saturday showed Trump, the Republican presidential nominee, greeting fans in the concourse while entering the stadium. He was seen throwing boxes of popcorn to fans who were standing behind barricades.
Footage also showed Trump in his suite with musician Kid Rock and Alabama Senator Tommy Tuberville, who was also a football coach in the Southeastern Conference. Trump waved to the crowd from his private suite and the Alabama fans in the stadium roared in response when he was shown on the big screen.
How many Alabama football games has Donald J. Trump attended?
Notably, this Saturday's game between the Bulldogs and the Tide is the third Alabama game that Donald J. Trump has attended, per Tuscaloosa News. He previously attended two Crimson Tide football games when he was serving as the US president.
Trump was in attendance for the 2018 national championship game between Alabama vs. Georiga, which the Tide won 26-23 in overtime. He was also present for the LSU vs. Alabama game in Tuscaloosa in 2019, which the Tigers won 46-41.
Although Alabama has not won a football game at Bryant-Denny Stadium with Trump in attendance, it appears that could change on Saturday.
At the time of writing, the Tide are leading Georgia 30-7 at halftime. Alabama quarterback Jalen Milroe was dominating the show in the first half. He completed 18 of 21 passes for 199 yards and a touchdown, while also rushing for two more scores.
Meanwhile, Georgia quarterback Carson Beck made eight of 17 passes for 100 yards and threw two interceptions.
