WATCH: Heisman frontrunner Cam Ward splurges NIL money on Miami's O-line with precious surprise gifts

Cam Ward is having a great season as the starting quarterback for the No. 9 ranked Miami Hurricanes. He's leading the FBS in passing yards and touchdowns for his position heading into Week 12.

Miami's offensive line has contributed to Ward's success by protecting him throughout the season. Ward recently decided to show gratitude by gifting his teammates with personalized chains.

Ward bought chains with each offensive lineman's jersey number from GLD and handed them out during a night out with his teammates. GLD shared the video of the Hurricanes quarterback gifting the chains on Instagram.

In the video, each player was grateful for receiving chains dedicated to them. Miami offensive lineman Samson Okunlola mentioned that this was his first chain.

"This is my first chain baby!" Okunlola said.

Ward's gifts might have been expensive, but he seemingly has the money to spend from his NIL deal. On3 has shared that his NIL valuation is $2.1 million.

In recent weeks, the offensive line has done a great job of preventing their quarterback from getting hit. In the last four games, Ward has been sacked twice. He'll need his team to protect him well as he makes his case to win the Heisman Trophy.

Cam Ward's pursuit of the Heisman Trophy

Cam Ward is among the candidates in the running to win this year's Heisman award. He enters Week 12 with 241 completed passes for 3,494 yards and 32 touchdowns. In addition, he's only thrown six interceptions.

Miami (9-1, 5-1 ACC) is coming off a 28-23 loss to the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets (6-4, 3-4) in Week 11 on Nov. 9. Although the team lost, Ward was still able to have a good showing.

He ended the game by completing 25 of 39 passes for 348 yards and three touchdowns. He avoided committing a turnover but could not lead his team to victory.

The Hurricanes' loss was a setback for the team, but they'll have an opportunity to redeem themselves next week. Miami will be out of action for Week 12.

They'll suit up again when they face the Wake Forest Demon Deacons (4-5, 2-3) in a home game in Week 13 on Nov. 23. Wake Forest has struggled defensively this season, which could lead to another excellent performance for Ward.

The team has only two games left for the season. Cam Ward must have a good showing in both to better his chances of winning the Heisman.
