Since the Big 12 conference has expanded from 12 teams to 16 members for the 2024 college football season, four former Pac-12 mascots are also entering the fray. Ahead of the Big 12 Media Day, Arizona’s Wilbur the Wildcat, Arizona State’s Sparky, Colorado’s Chip, and Swoop from Utah were spotted cruising down the Las Vegas Strip on Monday, celebrating the realignment of the conference.
The new mascots also met with the existing Big 12 mascots at Allegiant Stadium. To mark the special event of welcoming four new teams into the conference, members of the cheerleading squad from each team were also present at the ground.
