Michael Penix Jr. is all set to appear in the 2024 NFL Draft in Detroit on Thursday in a step to live his dream of becoming a professional football player. The former Washington Huskies QB had a great stint in college football leading his team to the national championship game in his final season. Before the draft, he took a vacation with his girlfriend Olivia Carter on the Caribbean island of Jamaica.

Here is the video shared by Olivia Carter, girlfriend of former Washington Huskies QB Michael Penix Jr.
“Haven't stopped smiling with this one,” she wrote in the video shared on her Instagram story that originally appeared on her TikTok.
Olivia Carter had shared a snap with Penix from a plane on Thursday, saying that they were off to a holiday without revealing the destination. Now the fans know that the love birds were traveling to Jamaica at that point. With just a few days left till the draft, it made a nice getaway for the couple before the limelight of being in the NFL takes over their lives for years to come.
Michael Penix Jr. gets a nod before the 2024 NFL Draft
Just days ahead of the draft, Michael Penix Jr. got a nod from Mike Tannenbaum. The former New York Jets GM even suggested a team that would benefit greatly from having a quarterback of his caliber on the roster. According to him, the Dallas Cowboys could move away from Dak Prescott and make Penix their signal caller for the future.
“I don't think Dak Prescott is 55 million per year better than someone like Michael Penix. Think about CeeDee Lamb, Micah Parsons, all the other things that you can do. ... Do I think Dak's better than Penix? Yes. I just don't think he's $55 million a year better,” Mike Tannenbaum said on ESPN’s First Take.
Prescott is locked down with the Cowboys for the 2024 season but has a ‘no franchise tag’ clause in his contract. That means both the parties would have to agree on a deal after the season to continue together. That might just tilt the balance in Michael Penix Jr.’s favor if Jerry Jones decides to draft him on Thursday.
