WATCH: Nebraska locker room welcomes Matt Rhule in style after 28-10 win over Deion Sanders' Colorado

Matt Rhule's Nebraska Cornhuskers dominated Deion Sanders' Colorado Buffaloes on Saturday. For much of the game, the Cornhuskers ran the show, with their defense on top of Buffs quarterback Shedeur Sanders and their offense scoring 28 by halftime. All that was left was for the Huskers was to to chew up the clock as they won 28-10.

Running the show from the sidelines was coach Rhule, who deservedly got a warm welcome as he entered the Nebraska locker room after the game. The Cornhuskers lifted their coach, who swarmed on top of him and hailed the coach after another impressive victory.

Here's the video:

It was the Cornhuskers's 50th victory over the Colorado Buffaloes. Moreover, they also snapped their three-game losing streak against the team from Boulder since leaving Big 12 in 2011. They avenged last year's 36-14 loss against rival coach Deion Sanders.

Matt Rhule praises defense after unexpected win

Although the betting odds were in favor of the Cornhuskers, Matt Rhule said that not many expected them to win the game.

"Not that many people thought we were going to beat them by this much," Rhule said postgame on NBC.

He credited his defense, who were able to get past Colorado's weak O-line multiple times to hurry up Shedeur Sanders and also sacked him multiple times in the first quarter. Not to mention the pick-six early in the game that knocked the Buffs off their high horse.

"Well, they have great players. Everyone kept talking about their stars," Rhule said. "Our defense is a star, and you know what, we were challenged at times, but for the most part, our defense controlled the game."

The first half also saw Deion Sanders' son and Colorado's safety Shilo Sanders exit the game in what's now reported to be "broken forearm." Midway through the fourth quarter, Coach Prime's second son, Shedeur Sanders, took a hit as he performed a slide.

Matt Rhule hopes the two stars are "okay."

"I'm hopeful and prayerful that Shilo and Shedeur are okay," Rhule said.

While many thought that it was ugly from Cornhuskers in the second half, as they give up multiple offensive drives too easily, but Rhule doesn't entirely feel so.

"It wasn't really a contest in the second half. Defense played great. We had the blocked punt that led to their only score (touchdown). Probably went a little too conservative. Apparently we had a lot of penalties in the second half. Called back some big, long runs," Matt Rhule said.
"We're not turning the ball over. It might look ugly in some ways, but I don't know; 28-10 tonight doesn't look ugly to me."

Nebraska Cornhuskers (2-0) next host Northern Iowa and Illinois in the coming weeks.
