Watch: Nick Saban hilariously mimics LSU's live tiger as Pat McAfee continues to get the best out of Former Alabama HC
Nick Saban gave his best tiger impression Saturday ahead of the No. 15 LSU Tigers' home matchup against the No. 11 Alabama Crimson Tide. LSU is set to have a live tiger on the field as the mascot before the Week 11 contest starts. Saban's "College GameDay" co-host Pat McAfee asked the former Crimson Tide coach if he could do a roar, and Saban hilariously mimicked the LSU mascot.
Louisiana Governor Jeff Landry pushed for LSU to bring back its tradition of having the live mascot appear before a game at Tiger Stadium. The last time the team had a tiger on the field was Mike VI in 2015. After Mike VI passed away the following year, LSU acquired Mike VII and kept him in his home across the street from the stadium. The school has been reluctant to feature its mascot in front of crowds because it is concerned how it will react.
Landry decided Nov. 8 to acquire another tiger from a handler in Florida to be shown at Saturday's LSU (6-2, 3-1 Southeastern Conference) vs. Alabama (6-2, 3-2) game.
LSU will use the intrigue and excitement of having a tiger on the field to fire up fans even more ahead of a massive rivalry game. The Tigers will have a slight advantage of playing at home, which Saban believes can be the hardest place for opposing teams to compete.
Saban says why it's difficult to compete at Tiger Stadium
During "College GameDay," Saban explained why it was challenging during his career to play at Tiger Stadium against LSU. He believes LSU's passionate fans make it difficult for other teams to deal with during the game.
"I think this is the hardest place to play in college football because of the LSU fans. The passion that the people have here is fantastic, and I think it's great for college football," Saban said.
Although Saban credited the team's fanbase, he believes Alabama will defeat LSU Saturday.
