WATCH: Nick Saban has priceless reaction to hug by half-naked Pat McAfee while ‘leprechaun’ Lee Corso dances

Nick Saban found himself at the center of the madness as ESPN's "College GameDay" featured absolute comedic scenes during its Week 1 broadcast on Saturday. The pregame show had the star-studded cast of Rece Davis, Kirk Herbstreit, Lee Corso, Pat McAfee and the newly inducted Saban on air as it went live from College Station, Texas.

The episode turned chaotic as the crew previewed the Top 25 matchup between No. 7 Notre Dame and No. 20 Texas A&M. In a moment that caught everyone off guard, Pat McAfee—half-naked and shirtless—side-hugged Saban while he was mid-sentence, trying to make his point.

If that wasn’t wild enough, Lee Corso, dressed as a leprechaun, danced before exiting the set. Despite the anarchy around him, Saban couldn’t help but crack a smile and say:

“I never knew any of this. I never experienced any of this. I’ve never been to anything like this. This is so much fun.”

The former Alabama coach, more accustomed to intense gameday atmospheres, seemed genuinely amused by the chaos, proving that even Saban can be surprised.

Nick Saban has his fun on ESPN 'College GameDay'

The seven-time national champion may have traded the sidelines for the studio but hasn’t lost his edge. On ESPN's "College GameDay" broadcast from College Station, Texas, Saban showed he’s more than ready for his new role as an analyst.

The crew was discussing Ohio State's use of NIL money and the transfer portal when the 72-year-old legendary coach dropped a sentence that had his co-hosts bursting.

"You guys keep talking about a $20-million roster. If you don’t pay the right guys, you’ll be sh*t out of luck," Saban said.

This was enough to send Howard, Davis, McAfee and Herbstreit into laughter. Herbstreit even joked:

"Congratulations – you just broke the internet."

The former Alabama coach’s unfiltered take on the NIL era was a hit, but he also made a solid point. He noted that Ohio State’s biggest win was keeping last year’s key players, saying:

"Really, it’s the guys they kept that’s most important because they already have the culture."

Keeping Saban’s sharp insights and candid humor aside, it’s clear that his transition from coaching to broadcasting is off to a flying start.
