WATCH: Texas HC Steve Sarkisian pulls out the big guns with lavish ride ahead of Red River Rivalry in Week 7

Texas coach Steve Sarkisian has led the Longhorns to a flawless start to the 2024 college football season after moving from the Big 12 to the Southeastern Conference. The No. 2 ranked Longhorns are expected to be in contention for both the conference and national championships.

The Longhorns have an open week ahead of their huge Week 7 clash against Red River rivals, the Oklahoma Sooners, whom they decamped the Big 12 with, and it promises to be a blockbuster game.

Sarkisian showed off his fancy transport on Instagram on Friday when he posted a clip of himself climbing into a black Texas-branded helicopter, which then proceeded to lift off.

Steve Sarkisian reveals areas of improvement ahead of Red River Derby

Coach Steve Sarkisian's Texas Longhorns are currently ranked No. 2 in the country after cruising to a 35-13 win against the Mississippi State Bulldogs to open their SEC campaign on the back of a stellar performance by quarterback Arch Manning.

To make matters better for the Longhorns coach, he will have the option of using starting quarterback Quinn Ewers after opting to continue to rest him during Week 5 action after his injury. And yet, the demanding coach has not been satisfied with some aspects of his team's play.

During his weekly media availability, Steve Sarkisian revealed which areas of his team's play he still thinks he can improve on.

"[One of] a couple of things to me that we need to improve offensively [is] the turnover thing," Steve Sarkisian said. "I think we're at plus two on the turnover margin. It's just not where we want to be. And a lot of that is due to the fact that we're turning the ball over more than we have historically, and that's on us as coaches. We've got to emphasize it more.
"It's easy to point at Jaydon Blue this week or Arch Manning the week before. I look at just, hey, is there a way for us to secure the ball better? Can we protect better?"

The Longhorns lost nine out of 19 fumbles last season with an average of 1.4 per game, and this season, they have lost three out of five total fumbles with an average of one per game.

Steve Sarkisian's team will have more margin for error with the expanded 12-team College Football Playoff. Yet, the Longhorns cannot take the clash against the Oklahoma Sooners for granted after coach Brent Venables' team handed them their sole regular season loss last season.
