WATCH: Travis Hunter's mentality shines through as footage before Cincinnati game goes viral
Travis Hunter is one of the most keenly followed athletes in college football. The Colorado Buffaloes two-way star is among the favorites to win the Heisman and is expected to be picked in the top five of the 2025 NFL draft.
Hunter and the No. 23-ranked Colorado Buffaloes took care of the Cincinnati Bearcats 34-23 this past weekend to improve to 6-2. Footage has surfaced on social media showing Hunter putting in extra work to be fully prepared for his opponent.
Hunter arrived at Folsom Field before his teammates for an extra workout session. The two-way star is seen training intensely.
Hunter took his talents from Jackson State to a power four school in Colorado in 2023 following coach Deion Sanders' switch. He has since established himself as arguably their most important player.
Travis Hunter continues to excel in dual role for Buffaloes
There has been much speculation as to which position Hunter should be playing at the NFL level between wide receiver and defensive back. It's widely believed he will not be able to play both professionally, given the speed and physicality of the game.
Until then though, Hunter is continuing to brace the uniqueness of his role as a dual-position athlete on different sides of the ball.
Hunter secured nine receptions for 153 passing yards and two touchdowns against the Bearcats.
Colorado does not play this week but will face the Texas Tech Red Raiders on Nov. 9, for an opportunity to improve to 7-2. Their playoff hopes are alive, but they will need to rely on some missteps by BYU, Iowa State and Kansas State.
Colorado lost 31-28 to Kansas State earlier in the season, a head-to-head that could be difficult to overcome.
