What happened to Taylen Green? Exploring Arkansas QB’s exit from Ole Miss game
The Arkansas Razorbacks are hosting the No. 19-ranked Ole Miss Rebels and struggling. Arkansas quarterback Taylen Green suffered an injury in the first quarter, and things did not look good for him as he needed assistance getting to his feet and appeared to walk gingerly toward the sideline.
On the play where Green was injured, it seemed that his left leg was caught underneath a defender while he was being tackled. He has not appeared back in the game as of the middle of the third quarter and there has not been any update on his status.
Before leaving due to the injury, Taylen Green completed 10 of 14 passes for 158 yards and had 10 rushing attempts for 16 yards. The Arkansas Razorbacks have not been able to compete with the Ole Miss Rebels on the scoreboard, but it will be interesting to see if Green can make a return to the game.
What happened the last time Taylen Green was injured this season?
This is not the first time that Taylen Green has dealt with an injury, as he also left the game against the Tennessee Volunteers in early October. After that game, where the team pulled off the upset, coach Sam Pittman discussed the situation.
"Taylen you know, we'll see. Obviously, it wasn't as bad as for us not to ask him how he felt. Our diagnosis for him was if he wanted to get back in the game, we could, then he got tackled again, and then we just said, Okay, that's enough." h/t On3
Green did not miss any games due to the injury and instead was able to play against the LSU Tigers. This is a tough stretch of games going forward, as the Razorbacks still have games against the Texas Longhorns and Missouri Tigers remaining this season.
Entering this game, Taylen Green has been doing well as he has gone 151-of-249 (60.6%) passing for 2,056 yards with 11 passing touchdowns to seven interceptions while running 95 times for 395 yards (4.2 yards per attempt) with five rushing touchdowns.
