“What high road?”— Ex-Colorado player Gavin Kuld claps back at Deion Sanders' son Shedeur Sanders following “spare you this 1 time” comments
Gavin Kuld took to X to clap back at Shedeur Sanders amid their online feud. The former Colorado Buffaloes quarterback was replying to Deion Sanders' son’s earlier warning to him. He asked Shedeur to clarify what he was talking about when he said he was taking the high road amid the controversy.
The Colorado QB1 had earlier warned Kuld and said he was sparing him for "this one time." Shedeur Sanders said this in a post on X:
“I learned sometimes you have to take the high road. @GKuld I’ll spare you only this 1 time.”
He also hit at the media, saying that anyone who leaves Colorado is interviewed just to get negative reviews on the program. Gavin Kuld sounded surprised at being hit by the warning and clapped back at his former teammate in an X post:
“Bro @ShedeurSanders what high road? What are u talking about spare me lol.”
Gavin Kuld announced his decision to transfer out of Colorado earlier this month on social media. He thanked the Buffs nation and the coaches, including head coach Deion Sanders and offensive coordinator Pat Shurmur, while saying goodbye to the fans.
Days later, he hit out at Shedeur Sanders directly. He said there was bad blood between them and that Coach Prime's son effectively shut him out of the program. That started a social media exchange between the two and has fans talking about what is happening inside the Buffs facility in Boulder.
What did Gavin Kuld say about Shedeur Sanders?
In an interview that is now private on YouTube, Gavin Kuld hit out at Shedeur Sanders. He said that the Colorado QB1 effectively shut him out of the program by telling the coaching staff that the North Carolina native couldn't be the backup QB. He also accused Deion Sanders' son of ignoring him during meetings in the QB room the entire spring.
“The second I came in, he told the coaching staff that I would never be, I would never have the chance to be the backup quarterback. Then he would never coach me. I sat there and watched him talk to the other four quarterbacks all spring, you know, ‘what would you be doing in this play? What are you reading here?’ And he was completely mute to me,” Kuld said in the interview.
Kuld did not feature in the Black and Gold game earlier this month, with four quarterbacks getting snaps. He is now looking for a new team and reportedly has a few offers in hand. It remains to be seen where he will play in the 2024 season.
