Army vs Temple game preview

The Black Knights were impressive during their Week 4 game against the Rice Owls. Quarterback Bryson Daily led all rushers with 145 yards on 23 carries, including three scores. On the passing front, he threw for 107 yards and two touchdowns on 6-of-9 attempts.

On defense, the Black Knights dominated the first half and didn't allow opposing quarterback EJ Warner to score even once.

"We'll be at a physical disadvantage when we play them because they're talented as hell and fast and big and athletic," Black Knights coach Jeff Monken said ahead of Thursday's game via ASAPSports.com.
"We don't have anybody on our team that got offered a scholarship by Temple. We're going to have to play our butts off and play really, really well to give ourselves a chance to win."

Meanwhile, the Temple Owls started the season losing three straight games to No. 21 Oklahoma, Navy and Coastal Carolina, before registering their first win over Utah State last week. Quarterback Evan Simon has taken the reins of the Owls after he made five touchdown passes and one rushing score in last week's win.

“It’s the same type of effort, same type of discipline, same type of physicality that you see,” Owls coach Stan Drayton said ahead of the game via TempleNews.com.
“If they force you to be one-dimensional, you’ve got your hands full, because on the other side of the ball, they’re going to control that clock, so you have to try to the best of your ability to try to get out in front. I think you have to match their level of intensity and their physicality early in the ball game. If you don’t, you’re in trouble," he added.

The Temple Owls will likely have to play out of their skins to beat the Army Black Knights on Thursday. Jeff Monken's Black Knights enter this contest as a 12.5-point favorite.
