Rutgers vs. Nebraska game preview

The Rutgers are yet to register a victory against the Nebraska Cornhuskers in their history. Six games have been played between the two, and each time, the Scarlet Knights came up short.

However, the same cannot be said about their quarterback, Athan Kaliakmanis, who came in relief to score a comeback victory in 2022 against the Huskers. But then again, he was with Minnesota at the time.

“They’re big,” Kaliakmanis said of Nebraska’s defense. “They do a lot to try and confuse the quarterback. They’re very good at holding their shells. They’re very athletic. They’ve got some veterans back, they’re disciplined and they’re ready to go.”

Meanwhile, for Nebraska, its shining armor will be freshman quarterback Dylan Raiola, who has turned heads with his play style. The Georgia native has an over 70% pass completion rate for 1,224 yards and nine touchdowns with two interceptions.

Raiola's favorite target is wide receiver Isaiah Neyor, who leads all WRs of the team with 17 receptions for 291 yards with four touchdowns. On defense, linebacker John Bullock leads the Cornhuskers with 29 tackles (five for loss) with two sacks, one interception, three pass breakups and a forced fumble.

Nebraska enters this game as (-7) favorites, but the game is expected to be much closer.
