Syracuse vs Stanford game preview

Despite the two programs being in existence for a long time, Friday will mark the first meeting between the two.

The Cardinal had a week off after a dominating outing over Mustangs, but they'd still be contemplating their loss to TCU. Ashton Daniels, the starting quarterback, will need to get his air passes safely, evading Orange's cornerbacks.

Last week, he did just that, throwing for 221 yards, two touchdowns and zero interceptions on 19-of-23 pass attempts. This was an improvement over the loss to TCU, where he could only complete 17-of-35 passes for a touchdown and an interception, while getting sacked four times.

Meanwhile, everything is going smoothly for Syracruse under new coach Fran Brown. However, a loss in the preceding week to Clemson isn't what they would have liked. Ohio State transfer and senior quarterback Kyle McCord has been everything Syracuse envisioned.

In two games, 69% of his passes have been received, highlighting his accuracy. Moreover, he has thrown for 735 yards, including eight touchdown passes and only one interception, but it's his offensive line that's making things easy for him.

According to oddsmakers, Suracuse is a 8.5-home favorite, with the total set at 56.5 points.
