“Why them lmao”: Fans troll Olivia Dunne and Paul Skenes after ESPN College GameDay Week 11 celebrity guest pickers announcement

On Thursday, reports surfaced that Pittsburgh Pirates pitcher Paul Skenes and LSU gymnast Olivia Dunne would be the celebrity guest pickers in Week 11 of ESPN's College GameDay. Fans on social media didn't take too kindly to the news that the couple would appear on the GameDay panel at Baton Rouge on Saturday.

Some on X suggested that ESPN could have found better guest pickers than Skenes and Dunne.

"Out of all the choices why them lmao," one tweeted.
"Nobody asked for this," added another.
"Out of all the LSU legends, we pick Livvy?…" a third commented.

A few others also expressed their displeasure at the upcoming guest pickers, while some suggested that other former LSU athletes could have been invited.

"This is terrible," one tweeted.
"Huge miss not picking Angel Reese," one added.
"No Derrick Henry, Joe Burrow ?" a fan asked.

Skenes played college baseball for LSU and led the team to the College World Series title in 2023. The Pirates then drafted him with the top pick a few weeks later.

Meanwhile, Dunne was part of the LSU gymnastics team that won the national championship earlier this year. In July, she announced that she was returning to LSU for her fifth and final year of college eligibility.
